Artisan Odysseys
The Artisan Odysseys are designed to be immersive adventures connecting travelers with ancient cultures and artisan traditions across the globe. Hosted by the Artisan Alliance, these journeys around the world provide a window into the lives of artisan entrepreneurs revitalizing ancient techniques while providing sustainable livelihoods in their communities.
laos and vietnam
The Artisan Alliance is currently traveling throughout Laos and Vietnam on its maiden Artisan Odyssey voyage. We will be visiting Saa paper making villages, woodblock painting villages, ceramic villages, as well as local handicraft and textile galleries. Through local cooking classes and city-wide guided tours, we will be immersed in the local Lao and Vietnamese cultures. We will also learn how to weave and dye fabrics by visiting the Houey Hong Vocational Training Center and Alliance member Ock Pop Tok.
